Editure works collaboratively to ensure that NMS provides immediate, appreciable value. Deployment usually takes the following form, but can be adjusted for specific circumstances.
- Agree initial nodes to be monitored
- Agree monitoring tolerances of nodes for altering purposes
- Collation of all required network information
- Enabling network and other devices for SNMP if required
- Initial deployment of appliance
- Initial report creation
- Testing
- User training
The Editure NMS appliance is typically installed at the host site with at least two independent network connections. The first connection typically runs SNMP and other monitoring requests of an active nature while the second (and subsequent) connections are used for passive data mirroring for thing like server farms, internet links, WAN connections etc. This segregated topology allows detailed analysis, minimal impact on active network infrastructure and discretionary logging for future analysis.
